A. Charles Muller

Professor, Center for Evolving Humanities

Prof. Muller specializes narrowly in Korean Buddhism and Confucianism, and more broadly in the intellectual history of East Asia, having a special interest in the development of East Asian Yogâcāra Buddhism. He has also worked extensively in the areas of East Asian classical lexicography, and online scholarly resource development. Among his major book-length works are The Sūtra of Perfect Enlightenment: Korean Buddhism's Guide to Meditation (SUNY Press, 1999) and Wŏnhyo's Philosophy of Mind (University of Hawai'i Press, 2012). Among the online digital projects he has initiated are the Digital Dictionary of Buddhism , the CJKV-E Dictionary , the H-Buddhism Buddhist Scholars Information Network, and most recently, the H-Buddhism Bibliography Project.
