*** Purpose [#vbf71622]
[[TEI協会（Text Encoding Initiative Consortium）:http://www.tei-c.org/]]は、人文学のためのデジタルテクスト資料の構造化に関する国際的なデファクトスタンダードであるTEI Guidelinesを策定している組織であり、現在のところ、欧米先進諸国の人文系研究機関が中心となって運営されている。[[東アジア／日本語分科会（East Asian / Japanese SIG）:http://www.tei-c.org/Activities/SIG/EastAsian/]]は、このTEI Guidelinesと日本語資料との適切な関係を追究し、日本語資料を国際的なデファクトスタンダードの下で共有できるようにすることを目指して、2016年6月にTEI協会内に設置された組織である。本国際ワークショップは、この東アジア／日本語分科会が主催し、日本語デジタルテクストの在り方とTEIの関係について検討を重ねていくための第一回の会合である。
