Introduction

Right-side window

Two windows that appear at the right of the screen allow the reader to retrieve matches of the selected text from within the content of the Digital Dictionary of Buddhism (DDB) and BDK-SAT parallel corpus (BSPC). These windows can be moved freely throughout the area of your browser, and can be closed and reopened as necessary.

Left-side tabs

There are three tabs on the left side — Index, Tools, and Image.

The Index tab allows you to display a tree outline according to the classification structure of the Taishō Daizōkyō, and when a folder within the tree is clicked, the scripture title and the names of the author/translator are displayed. When the title of the scripture is clicked, its text is displayed. If you click on the name of an author or translator, a pop-up window displays all texts related to that person.

The window that provides access to various tools can be opened and shut by clicking the Tools tab. You can also open and close the DDB and BSPC windows here. The functions of the separate windows are described below.

When you click the Image tab, or the displayed in the text, the image of the original source page is displayed. Although the entire page cannot be displayed at once, any portion of the page can be seen by dragging it with the mouse, and the image resolution can be expanded and reduced using the slide bar at the top.

Search functions

The basic search function is the same as the prior version. Searched keywords are located within the units of designated paragraphs (each paragraph is automatically designated by considering a line of less than 27 logographs to be the final line of the paragraph. Searches for two or more keywords (please separate each keyword by a blank space)are handled similarly.

Function of selecting search word candidates from English terms:

When you are not sure exactly which Chinese term you need, if you type an English term into the search box and click on the Eng button, you can generate an array of candidate terms matched from the DDB. When you click on the appropriate Chinese term, it will be inserted into the Search box.

Advancements from the previous version:

Advanced functions beyond the prior SAT-DB version include: (1) the way of narrowing down the range of search target texts; (2) improvement in the way of narrowing down the range of target texts by author/translator names; (3) in non-ambiguous search mode you can distinguish among CJK Compatibility logographs. This is made possible by having our search algorithm utilize the search functions of the N-Gram free software by Senna. A further upgrade related to our search technology is planned for the near future.

Tool Windows

Digital Dictionary of Buddhism:

When the text contained in the search result area is selected, the terms in the selected text that are contained in the DDB are displayed. Basically speaking, one can perform this kind of search over multiple lines, but there may be cases where the selection of multiple lines does not work. The DDB retrieval result is formatted to first display the longest-length matches within the selected text, followed by all other shorter patterns.

BDK-SAT Parallel Corpus:

When the text of the search result is dragged and selected, any passage for which there is a correspondence with a portion of text from the English translation of the Taishō by the BDK translation series will be retrieved and displayed.

Table of Authors/Translators/Commentators, etc.:

The texts related to the name of a certain author, translator, commentator, etc., can be displayed from the list of the names of authors, translators, commentators, etc., in the tree, and the text for retrieval can be narrowed further by putting the check in the check box when searching.

Bibliographical Database:

Readers can also search the related INBUDS bibliography database. If the Bibliographical DB window is opened up from under the Tools tab, when the text is selected, it will be input to the DB window. Within this window information will be displayed regarding whether the term can be found in the INBUDS database, and at the same time, whether the fulltext PDF is available from the CiNii repository. Additionally, the reader can alternatively select the SARDS and CiNii tabs and search within those repositories. Upon initiating a search in either SARDS or CiNii, a separate large search window will open up into those services. In the case of the SARDS window, the candidate Sanskrit term is produced from the DDB word list. In the case of either search, you can also input your own term as you like.

Character Information:

We have added a new function for the display of character information. Again, if you go to the Tools tab and click on the Character Information button, the character encoding information, as well as links to various character encoding information databases will be provided.

History Function

If you click on the History link on the upper right of the window, a recent browsing history will be displayed. In order for this to work, your browser needs to be set to allow cookies. Please be aware that history of only one month\'s activity will be stored.

画面右側に表示されている二つのウインドウは電子仏教辞典(DDB)と BDK-SATパラレルコーパス(BSPC)を検索閲覧するためのものです。 Webブラウザ内で任意の場所に動かすことができ、一時的に 消したりまた表示させたりすることもできます。 お好みにあわせて適宜移動させたり消したりしてください。

左側のタブ

左側に三つのタブがあります。「Index」というタブは 大正蔵の分類に沿った形でツリーが表示され、ツリーの フォルダをクリックしていくと経典名と著者・訳者名が 表示されます。経典名をクリックすると経典のテキストが 表示されます。人名をクリックするとウインドウがポップアップし、 その人名に関連するテキストがツリー表示されます。

「Tools」というタブを クリックすると色々なツールのウインドウを開閉できる ようになっています。DDBやBSPCのウインドウもここで開閉 できます。各ウインドウについては後述します。

「Image」というタブは、本文中にある 「」 をクリックするとその頁の画像が表示されるようになっています。一度に すべて表示されるようにはなっていませんが、ドラッグする ことで頁全体を見たり、画像上のスライダーで画像を拡大・縮小 したりできます。

検索機能

　検索機能では、検索結果表示の仕方と検索対象を 「[settings]」リンク （「Search」の右横にあります） から設定することができます。また、従来通りの機能として、類似漢字をまとめてあいまい検索するのがデフォルトになっております。そして、複数語検索したい場合は、検索語を空白で区切って並べてから検索してください。「AND」と「OR」も選べます。

検索結果表示は「KWIC表示(Keyword in Context(KWIC))」「経典毎に表示(Text)」「みなしパラグラフ(Pseudo paragraph)（27文字未満の 行を段落の最終行とみなすことで自動的に段落毎に分割する）ごとに表示」の三種類から選択できます。デフォルト設定では、前バージョンと同じ、「みなしパラグラフ」検索となっています。たとえば、検索したキーワードに関するすべての用例を一覧したい場合には「KWIC」を選んでください。「検索したキーワードが登場する経典」を一覧したい場合は「経典毎に表示（Text）」を選んでください。 なお、いずれにしても、検索の単位そのものは Pseudo paragraphです。これは、行やページをまたいだ キーワードをなるべくうまく検索するために採用している手法です。

経典毎、巻毎、部毎に絞り込み検索をする場合には、左側ウインドウの ツリーから該当するものにチェックを入れてから検索してください。 また、検索結果表示で経典名の左側にチェックボックスが現れますが、 これをクリックすることでも経典毎に検索することができます。おすすめの 使い方としては、ここで経典を選択すると同時に「KWIC」表示を選択する 手順です。これにより、比較的容易に絞り込みとキーワード登場箇所の一覧が 行えます。また、後述するように、著者名検索ウインドウから 絞り込みをかけることもできます。
それから、経典の本文のみ、あるいは脚注のみを検索することもできます。 この設定は「[settings]」から行ってください。

漢訳語がはっきりわからない場合は英語を検索窓に入力して「Eng」ボタンをクリックしていただくと、ウィンドウがポップアップし、DDBからの検索結果が表示されます。ここで検索したい語があればその語をクリックすると検索窓に入ります。

その他、前バージョンからのバージョンアップとしては、 非あいまい検索において、いわゆるCJK 互換漢字 （Compatibility Ideographs）を区別して検索する ようにしたという点があります。検索アルゴリズムは フリーソフトウェアであるSennaのN-gram検索機能に 依存しております。

各ツールウインドウ

本文、及び本文検索結果のテキストをドラッグして選択した際に、DDBの検索結果を表示します。なお、本文テキストをドラッグする場合には複数行にまたがったとしてもDDBでの検索が可能ですが、本文検索結果に関しては、複数行にまたがっての検索はできません。
DDBの検索結果は、選択されたテキストを先頭から最長一致で分割・検索したものを最初に表示し、その下に、すべてのあり得るパターンを検索・表示する形になっております。 本文、及び検索結果のテキストをドラッグして選択した際に、仏教伝道教会による英訳大蔵経の一部と大正蔵の該当テキストとの、文章単位での対訳コーパスを検索・表示します。英訳の用例を参照したい際などにご利用いただけますと幸いです。 著者名・訳者名・注釈者名のリストから関連するテキストをツリー表示 させることができ、さらにチェックボックスにチェックを入れることで テキスト検索の際に検索対象テキストの絞り込みができます。 関連する書誌データベースを検索できます。本文をドラッグすると そのテキストが検索窓に入力されるようになっています。INBUDSは これまでと同じであり、CiNiiにおいて全文PDFが公開されているか どうかの表示も行われます。今回はこれに加えて、タブ切り替えにより SARDSとCiNiiも検索できるようにしました。SARDSとCiNiiは、いずれも 検索すると別ウィンドウが開きそこに検索結果が表示されるように なっております。また、SARDSの場合、検索窓にはDDBから検索した 結果の英訳語が入力されるようになっています。また、いずれも、 自由に検索窓に入力することもできますので適宜ご利用ください。 文字に関する情報を表示するための新規機能です。本文の文字を ドラッグするとその文字に対応する文字コード番号（Unicode） が表示されると同時に、いくつかの文字関連データベース等への リンクが生成されます。文字について詳しく確認したい場合に ご利用ください。

History 機能

ウィンドウ右上の「History」というリンクをクリックすると、これまでの 閲覧履歴が表示されます。これはクッキーで管理されていますので クッキーをOnにしていただく必要があります。1ヶ月経つと 履歴は消えることがありますのでご注意ください。
