T1442_.23.0861a20: 是形相。鄔陀夷曰。婆羅門相其状如何。答曰
T1442_.23.0861a21: 婆羅門者其髻高大猶如冠帽。鄔陀夷曰。若
T1442_.23.0861a22: 如是者我即其人。以手摩頂大髻如冠忽然
T1442_.23.0861a23: 自現。彼人見已深生信仰。發希有心請入受
T1442_.23.0861a24: 食。食已爲其説法示教利喜。其婆羅門及婦
T1442_.23.0861a25: 倶獲初果。既得果已歸三寶受學處。奉四事
T1442_.23.0861a26: 至盡形。尊者告曰。我有化縁捨之而去
T1442_.23.0861a27: 往買珠者。時具壽鄔陀夷復於他日。觀諸有
T1442_.23.0861a28: 情誰堪受化。見一婆羅門亦事大天不信三
T1442_.23.0861a29: 寶。知堪受化。即於晨朝持衣鉢入城中。至
T1442_.23.0861b01: 婆羅門家門外而立。知彼婦意欲得好珠。即
T1442_.23.0861b02: 便化身爲賣珠者。入其舍内示彼好珠。光彩

T1442_.23.0861b07: 而取賤價。鄔陀夷知其根熟便復本形。時彼
T1442_.23.0861b08: 夫婦倍深信敬。遂以上妙飮食供養。食已澡

T1442_.23.0861c07: 禮佛白言。世尊有婆羅門不信三寶。禀性慳
T1442_.23.0861c08: 悋積聚爲務。無捨施心。今日忽然言請於我
T1442_.23.0861c09: 佛及僧衆明朝來食。佛默然受。彼婆羅門既
T1442_.23.0861c10: 至明日。於其舍内初無營辦。時給孤獨及餘

T1442_.23.0862a23: 妻室。儀容挺特好自誇談。時鄔陀夷觀知此

T1442_.23.0862a25: 至其宅内。時婆羅門有縁已出。其婦傲慢雖

T1442_.23.0862b01: 爲説頌已出門而去。于時彼婦不閑句義。便
T1442_.23.0862b02: 作是念。此之沙門罵詈於我。心懷瞋惱。婆羅
T1442_.23.0862b03: 門還見問曰。有何苦耶。婦曰向有沙門來罵
T1442_.23.0862b04: 辱我。彼若活者我命不全。其夫聞已怒目叱
T1442_.23.0862b05: 吒手援利劍逐彼苾芻欲斷其命。時鄔陀夷遙
T1442_.23.0862b06: 見彼來。化爲小室閉戸而坐。其婆羅門喚令
T1442_.23.0862b07: 開戸。尊者告曰。汝可棄劍我當爲開。婆羅門
T1442_.23.0862b08: 即作是念。但得相及拳打令死。便放其劍。以
T1442_.23.0862b09: 極瞋心急喚開戸。尊者報曰。捨此瞋怒暴惡
T1442_.23.0862b10: 之意當爲汝開。聞已竊念。此是聖人知我惡
T1442_.23.0862b11: 意。便自悔責捨除害心。即爲開戸。其人入已
T1442_.23.0862b12: 爲説妙法。便獲初果受三歸五戒。告言我於
T1442_.23.0862b13: 汝婦無惡罵詈。爲説伽*他令思往事。彼愚不
T1442_.23.0862b14: 解更起瞋心。今可諦聽當爲汝説。乃往昔時
T1442_.23.0862b15: 有一貧女。見他美女綺飾莊嚴。僕從自隨衆
T1442_.23.0862b16: 人愛敬。貧女懊惱啼泣作如是念。我今以何
T1442_.23.0862b17: 方便可得如是隨意事耶。時有鄔波斯迦。是
T1442_.23.0862b18: 其知友。告曰汝何憂苦。女以事白。答曰憂惱
T1442_.23.0862b19: 無益。他之果報從因所生。貧女問曰。其因者
T1442_.23.0862b20: 何。答曰於勝福田施以飮食。至誠發願必獲
T1442_.23.0862b21: 其果。時有獨覺聖人來從乞食。女持食施。心
T1442_.23.0862b22: 有所希。時彼獨覺爲現神變。貧女生信即發
T1442_.23.0862b23: 願言。願我以此供養善根。所生之處莫遭貧
T1442_.23.0862b24: 苦。若得人身端正姝妙。見者歡喜。受用無闕。
T1442_.23.0862b25: 歸由先施業發願力故。獲端正報受用豐
T1442_.23.0862b26: 足。生勝族中人所愛重。今乃不信當何得耶。

T1442_.23.0863a28: 日各持飮食。詣園林中欲爲聚集。時鄔陀夷

T1442_.23.0863b01: 羅門子根機將熟。即於晨朝持衣鉢入園中。
T1442_.23.0863b02: 就彼少年聚集之處。諸人見已自相問曰。此
T1442_.23.0863b03: 之苾芻是何種族而作出家。有委知者答衆
T1442_.23.0863b04: 人曰。此是婆羅門種。捨高貴族而作沙門。諸
T1442_.23.0863b05: 人聞已問尊者曰。仁是大臣之子族冑高勝。
T1442_.23.0863b06: 云何捨棄於此雜類卑下人中。食無簡別坐
T1442_.23.0863b07: 無次第而爲出家。尊者答曰。世間婆羅門有
T1442_.23.0863b08: 名無義。我所投者。無上大師及諸聖衆能除
T1442_.23.0863b09: 罪惡。此即皆是眞婆羅門。時彼少年聞是語
T1442_.23.0863b10: 已撫手而笑。于時尊者以神通力。令諸年少
T1442_.23.0863b11: 頭上花纓悉皆變爲葱蒜鬘帶。所有餅食盡
T1442_.23.0863b12: 作牛皮諸雜餚饌倶成牛肉。乳及飮漿盡變
T1442_.23.0863b13: 爲酒。此等皆非婆羅門種食用之物。時彼尊
T1442_.23.0863b14: 者。於己鉢中變作種種清淨飯食。告諸人曰。
T1442_.23.0863b15: 汝觀我鉢及以身形。比汝所爲。誰是清淨誰
T1442_.23.0863b16: 無簡別。時諸少年聞是語已。各各循省自知
T1442_.23.0863b17: 鄙惡。即相謂曰。是彼尊者以神通力。令我花

T1442_.23.0863c16: 歎未曾有。告言大聖斯之妙術願當惠我。尊

T1442_.23.0864a13: 壯士堪任受化。於晨朝時執持衣鉢欲行乞
T1442_.23.0864a14: 食。至城門下見斯壯士告言。男子汝是壯兒
T1442_.23.0864a15: 求相撲。答曰如是。鄔陀夷曰。汝當共我
T1442_.23.0864a16: 相撲爲當共。我所撲得者而相撲乎。壯士答
T1442_.23.0864a17: 曰。仁撲得者我且撲之。鄔陀夷曰。彼有強力
T1442_.23.0864a18: 汝不能禁。壯士曰。要待對敵方知強弱。鄔陀
T1442_.23.0864a19: 夷曰。貪瞋癡三是我所伏。汝試撲之。壯士曰。
T1442_.23.0864a20: 此有大力欺一切人。我何方便能爲彼敵。鄔
T1442_.23.0864a21: 陀夷曰。先可出家方能對敵。即剃髮染衣思
T1442_.23.0864a22: 降三毒。未久之頃。結惑皆除證阿羅漢。詣鄔

T1442_.23.0864b03: 惱増盛。乃與賊帥密行非法。尊者毎至其家
T1442_.23.0864b04: 於座而食。觀知此婦性多煩惱。常爲演説離
T1442_.23.0864b05: 欲之法。彼婦便念。尊者聖力能了他心。知我
T1442_.23.0864b06: 與人有私通事。我夫若至必當告知。今我宜
T1442_.23.0864b07: 應預斷其命。即詐現病相告使女曰。我今有
T1442_.23.0864b08: 疾。汝今可往白尊者知屈來至宅。使女往報。
T1442_.23.0864b09: 是時尊者不預觀察。來至其家。固留至夜令
T1442_.23.0864b10: 喚賊帥。至便告曰。若此苾芻命得存者。我終
T1442_.23.0864b11: 不活。時彼賊帥恐其事露。忿怒持刀斷尊者
T1442_.23.0864b12: 命。將其屍骸棄糞聚中。此是尊者先所作業
T1442_.23.0864b13: 今時果熟還於自身蘊器處受。非於餘處。乃

T1442_.23.0864b15: 爾時世尊於十五日褒灑陀時在衆中坐。大
T1442_.23.0864b16: 衆皆集唯鄔陀夷一人不到。時知座者白言。
T1442_.23.0864b17: 不見尊者鄔陀夷。諸佛世尊得無忘念。即告
T1442_.23.0864b18: 衆曰。我説鄔陀夷教化人中最爲第一。今已
T1442_.23.0864b19: 被殺棄糞聚中。汝等應爲長淨。時諸苾芻爲
T1442_.23.0864b20: 長淨已。佛言汝等應可倶行。與鄔陀夷爲最

T1442_.23.0864c05: 樂幢幡滿路香煙遍空。王及大臣傾城士女。
T1442_.23.0864c06: 從佛及僧送出城外。至一空處積衆香木。灌
T1442_.23.0864c07: 蘇油以火焚之。誦無常經畢。取舍利羅
T1442_.23.0864c08: 置金瓶内。於四衢路側建窣堵波。種種香花
T1442_.23.0864c09: 及衆音樂。莊嚴供養昔未曾有。王及中宮并
T1442_.23.0864c10: 諸士庶。佛及聖衆各還本所。爾時世尊至住

T1442_.23.0864c16: 諸苾芻有看病人。遂闕瞻視。知僧事者僧
T1442_.23.0864c17: 事廢闕。以事白佛。佛言有苾芻者囑授應
T1442_.23.0864c18: 去。應告彼曰。具壽存念。我有看病因縁。或爲
T1442_.23.0864c19: 衆事須非時入聚落。白具壽知。彼答云奧箄
T1442_.23.0864c20: 迦。時有苾芻於俗舍内先寄衣鉢。其舍非時
T1442_.23.0864c21: 忽然火起。苾芻即便往取衣鉢。行至中途作

T1442_.23.0865a20: 曰若如是者事當奈何。欲作何計得免災厄。

T1442_.23.0865a22: 婆羅門。方免災難。王遂出教總集五百頭牛
T1442_.23.0865a23: 倶在一處。牛大吼叫。王聞其聲便生悲愍。告

T1442_.23.0865b08: 一聚落有捕獵人。以屠殺爲業而自活命。彼
T1442_.23.0865b09: 時有一獨覺。來至林所而暫停息。當是之日
T1442_.23.0865b10: 彼捕獵人一無所獲。便生怪念。我從昔來於
T1442_.23.0865b11: 此林中多獲禽獸。何故今日而無所得。遂見
T1442_.23.0865b12: 人蹤隨跡而去。見一獨覺端居而坐。是時獵
T1442_.23.0865b13: 者作如是念。由此人來我無所得。遂生瞋忿。
T1442_.23.0865b14: 即滿張弓放以毒箭中其禁處。獨覺聖者見
T1442_.23.0865b15: 此愚人起悲愍心。爲現神變騰空上踊猶若
T1442_.23.0865b16: 鵝王。時彼獵人見神通已深生追悼。發言仰
T1442_.23.0865b17: 告。我愚癡人不識賢聖。願縱身下受我懺謝。
T1442_.23.0865b18: 時彼聖者爲哀愍故。放身而下受其懺謝。因
T1442_.23.0865b19: 即命終。時彼獵人以火焚形。取其舍利起窣
T1442_.23.0865b20: 覩波。種種供養因發大願。勿縁此罪令我當
T1442_.23.0865b21: 來受地獄報。於未來世當得逢遇殊勝大師
T1442_.23.0865b22: 親承供養。汝等苾芻往時獵人者即鄔陀夷

T1442_.23.0865b27: 士庶。倶至屍邊莊嚴寶輿移至勝處。焚燒既
T1442_.23.0865b28: 訖取設利羅造窣覩波盛興供養。乃往古昔
T1442_.23.0865b29: 有一瓦師見一獨覺身嬰疾病。爲乞食故次
T1442_.23.0865c01: 到其家。時彼瓦師不識賢聖。遂便捉咽推出
T1442_.23.0865c02: 棄糞聚中。彼身無力因即命過。有餘獨覺乘
T1442_.23.0865c03: 空而度。見其屍骸縱身而下。以諸香花隨時
T1442_.23.0865c04: 供養。瓦師見已具問其故。知是聖人便生憂
T1442_.23.0865c05: 悔。我是愚癡不識賢聖。自知無力能如法焚
T1442_.23.0865c06: 燒。遂即白王共爲禮葬。王聞大聖非理涅槃。

T1442_.23.0865c12: 慇重供養之業。於未來世當得遭遇殊勝大
T1442_.23.0865c13: 師。親承教旨不生疲厭。獲得如是神通自在。

T1442_.23.0865c15: 業餘報。於五百生中常被他殺投之糞聚。由
T1442_.23.0865c16: 彼供養發願力故。今値遇我成阿羅漢。由此
T1442_.23.0865c17: 業故雖涅槃後。我與大衆王及人民。悉皆雲
T1442_.23.0865c18: 集焚身供養。汝等當知。又何縁故此鄔陀夷

T1442_.23.0866a12: 世尊。知彼長者不閑法式不來告白。即便自
T1442_.23.0866a13: 將大衆詣長者家就其食處。時諸苾芻報長
T1442_.23.0866a14: 者曰。應唱隨意。長者即便報言。聖者我爲大
T1442_.23.0866a15: 衆設斯座褥。佛言此即便是作隨意訖。宜應
T1442_.23.0866a16: 就坐。佛及大衆坐時既久。日復將中不見行

T1442_.23.0866a18: 佛告阿難陀曰。汝告長者。日時既至應可行
T1442_.23.0866a19: 食。日時過者食何所爲。具壽阿難陀奉教而
T1442_.23.0866a20: 告長者。報曰聖者鄔波難陀今未來到。如是
T1442_.23.0866a21: 至三。阿難陀曰。若鄔波難陀不來者不欲行
T1442_.23.0866a22: 食耶。報言如是。具壽阿難陀以事白佛。爾時

T1442_.23.0866a24:     由他悉皆苦 自由便受樂
T1442_.23.0866a25:     共有皆闕事 智者不應爲
T1442_.23.0866a26: 時欲將中鄔波難陀方始來至。遂便行食。時
T1442_.23.0866a27: 諸苾芻有噉少許。有不食者。佛爲長者説施
T1442_.23.0866a28: 頌已從座而去。鄔波難陀即於此住不往寺
T1442_.23.0866a29: 中。當時是十五日衆僧欲作褒灑陀。*唯鄔波
T1442_.23.0866b01: 難陀不來赴集。復無持欲人。衆皆久坐妨廢
T1442_.23.0866b02: 法事。求覓不得令衆疲勞。時諸苾芻共生嫌
T1442_.23.0866b03: 賤作如是語。云何苾芻受食家請。食前食後
T1442_.23.0866b04: 而不速來。久住俗舍。以縁白佛。佛言食前食
T1442_.23.0866b05: 後有此過生。乃至我觀十利。爲諸弟子制其

T1442_.23.0866b13: 若復苾芻受食家請。食前食後行詣餘家。不

T1442_.23.0866b15: 若復苾芻者謂鄔波難陀。餘義如上。食家請
T1442_.23.0866b16: 者謂被他喚食家義如上。食前者謂是午前。
T1442_.23.0866b17: 若出行時過二家者。便得墮罪。食後者謂過
T1442_.23.0866b18: 午已後。若出行時過三家者。便得墮罪。不囑
T1442_.23.0866b19: 授者謂不報人。應囑施主云我往某處。或囑
T1442_.23.0866b20: 苾芻云向某處。結罪如上。此中犯相其事云
T1442_.23.0866b21: 何。若苾芻受食家請。食前行過二家。食後行

T1442_.23.0866c26: 臥具。向如是處簡息外縁。端心靜慮求斷煩
T1442_.23.0866c27: 惱。勿爲放逸後置憂悔。此即是我眞實教誡。
T1442_.23.0866c28: 如是世尊爲諸苾芻説思惟事令棄憒閙。時
T1442_.23.0866c29: 有苾芻得世俗通者。便往妙高山而修靜慮。
